Vive la France! 🇫🇷⚽️🥇🏆

Quote of the week: "How often do you hear people say, "We're so poor...I guess we'll have to go to Paris for P-Day!" " -a beloved STL who I shall not name *cough* *cough* thanks Sœur Gardanier *cough* *cough* #perksofbeinginthenavigozone haha I love that sœur!

What a time to be in France! How awesome is it to be in the country that won the Fifa World Cup in 2018?! People in France really know how to celebrate victories because right after the match, everyone is out on the street screaming and there are people in cars honking all over the place. All of that lasted for 5 hours starting at 7 pm, so I bet that you can all conclude that falling asleep was pretty difficult. Not only did the French celebrate winning the world cup they also celebrated July 14th aka Bastille Day which is the equivalent of July 4th in France. The firework show just so happened to be right in front of our apartment building so that night as I calmly went to bed and right when I was about to fall asleep a cannon shot followed by multiple BOOMS came out of nowhere and lasted for maybe 45 minutes. It honestly sounded like a war outside so maybe that's why I had a dream about a war. It sure is fun watching French celebrations!

We got to go over to a members house and watch her open her mission call! It turns out that she had received her mission call in the mail on Wednesday and waited until Friday to open it, WHAT A TROOPER! I couldn't even wait for a second when I saw my mission call in the mail. Anyway, I had put my guess on the world map that she was going to go to New Caledonia which is a French speaking mission since she's French. She opens her call and she is going to serve in the...Papeete (not sure if I spelled that right) Tahiti mission! Her reaction was so good, she paused right before she read where she was going then announced it!
She is going to the New Zealand MTC in September and it also turns out that another young woman in the ward leaves the same days as her to the same MTC too! Missions are so awesome!

Tomorrow, my trio will now go down to a duo. Starting at 4 in the morning Sœur Biggs and I have to take Sœur Kabongo to the airport so that she can be on her way to Utah, but that's not all folks. On Wednesday, I'll be taking Sœur Biggs to Paris and I'll be receiving a new companion as well! Her name is Sœur Fears and I'm so excited for this transfer with her! I'll introduce her to you all in my email next week so stay tuned! I'm going to miss the trio life. It's been fun and I've learned so much from both of my comps. One thing I love about the mission is getting to serve with different people and soon enough they become friends who have impacted me in so many ways. Shout out to all of my companions on the mission and to all the missionaries I've been with in my districts!
I am now in the double digits for transfers! The big 10! It feels really weird being out for that long and noticing how little time I have which can make me nervous at times. I love what I do as a missionary and I know that this gospel is true!

Have a great week everybody! I love and miss you all!

Love,
Sœur Hopkinson
