A Grand Life
Bonjour famille! It's hard to believe that I've been in the MTC for just one week, but it feels like it's been a month. Congrats to you Spencer for graduating! I'm proud of you! Hopefully you didn't lose my cap ;) There's a lot to take in on the first week, but I'm learning a lot. My French is getting better and now, I'm getting into the habit of saying French words in my sentences as I speak. This past week, my companion and I have been teaching this one investigator who turned out to be our 2nd French teacher. This whole time, my district has been debating whether or not she was an investigator or our actual teacher until this morning, we happened to pass her on the way back from the temple and she tried to hide her name tag from us!
This week has been pretty interesting. It started out by my district having to all go to the health center for some visa tests. For Belgium we had to get some blood taken and there's another test that was not pleasant at all...Walker and Ammon are gonna get a huge laugh out of this..(....) IT WAS AWFUL!
I met an apostle this week! Elder Dale G. Renlund and his wife came on Tuesday night and gave a devotional for all the missionaries. My whole district sang in the MTC choir. At the end they announced that Elder Renlund and his wife wanted to shake everyone's hand, so yes, I got to shake an apostle’s hand! When I got to him, I shook his hand and greeted him in French and he stopped and talked to me for a couple of minutes! He asked me where I was from and where I was serving my mission! It was so cool!
Sœur Schade and I are still teaching the same investigator and the lessons are coming along. A little bit about my companion, she is from Linden, Utah and I absolutely adore her. She is full of fun and laughter and we are a great companionship. We lost an elder from our district this week. He went home due to bad anxiety and now we have a tri-panionship of elders in the district.
Life here at the MTC is just so grand and I'm enjoying every single day here. Only 5 weeks left until I'm off to France! This week I took a couple of pictures for everyone and there will be more to come! I miss you all! À plus tard!
Love,
Sœur Hopkinson
