The Naan Crew

Heat log entry #63: By the end of last week I was a puddle. I honestly have no idea where the heat came from because starting from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed I'm sweating! SO GROSS! I've been drinking a lot of water though and had to ask a nice lady for a water bottle as we were knocking on doors (porting). Thankfully she didn't stall the conversation like the old man two weeks ago and the water was nice and cool as well so BONUS! It was a pretty good week overall!

Today we are spending a day in Paris going on a sightseeing adventure! The weather is still heating up like usual but I think later on this week it should be getting cooler. I'll also be going on exchanges this week on Friday and Saturday so stay tuned in for next week to read that adventure folks!

I had my interview with my mission president last Monday and that man is such an inspired person! I decided to come with a question in mind because normally when I talk with President Sorensen, he can beat me to my thoughts before I ask anything and he says exactly what I need to hear. This interview was probably my favorite one. Since we had interviews, that also meant that we had zone conference the same week. We rode up to Paris to learn more about how we can better teach repentance and many other topics included. We also learned more about eating healthier. Sœur Sorensen, mission president's wife, came talked about eating quinoa and even had little bags for everyone to make and eat at home! I never was a huge fan of quinoa before the mission but for some reason now, I'm just craving more of that stuff! Super good I tell ya!

E_____, the little girl we've been teaching, passed her interview to be baptized! One problem though...her baptismal date had to be moved AGAIN because her mom wants all of the family to be there but since it's summer time in France and many people are on vacation. She had a date set for August 18th but now we have to wait...until SEPTEMBER! I admit I was a little discouraged that this was going to happen but I have to trust that the Lord knows what He's doing and that there's a reason why E_____ needs to be baptized in September. Other than the date change, she is doing great and her mom is just so proud of her little girl.

Friday night, the other sœurs in the apartment, Sœurs Hawks and Maeser, invited us to go get some food at a place that I've passed by frequently but never tried. Get ready for the name of this little restaurant because it was cracking me up a lot. We all went to this place called...BatNaan! The menu is so funny! This place sells sandwiches with any kind of meat you choose wrapped with cheese Naan bread. It was a decent meal but something I wouldn't eat often. Each sandwich had the name of a superhero so we each got a different hero haha! I got a classic BatNaan. I'll send a picture of the menu at the end! Gotta love the spontaneous events!

I'd like to share my favorite quote that Sœur Sorensen gave to us at zone conference- "A simple prayer can activate the Atonement". Being on a mission has taught me the importance of prayer in my life. I know that to feel peace in my life, the best way to gain that is through prayer. Heavenly Father wants to hear from us. We are His children and He loves us with an infinite love.

I love and miss you all! Have a fun week!

Love,
Sœur Hopkinson
